Dead Presidents: Brújula →
This is an amazing piece of writing. Loved it.
deadpresidents:
He was coarse and obnoxious. A big, overbearing, profane, restless, ambitious Texan who pushed and prodded and wheeled and dealed his way from poverty in the Texas Hill Country to the most powerful office in the world. She was soft-spoken and eloquent. A gentle, quiet, polite, and comforting…

So, let me see if I have this straight. Google did the following: Installed IE Installed the Bing Bar Said, yes, Microsoft watch what I do and learn from it. Taught Bing about some new bogus websites Became shocked and outraged that Bing actually learned what they taught it. Does that about sum it up or am I missing something here? How a Silly Phone for Teens Reveals Microsoft's...
via gizmodo.com This is a good article describing how Microsoft is bringing its pieces together. In the last 3 to 5 years they have been laying the groundwork to bring an end to end computing experience to fruition. They are almost there. By the end of the year Windows Live Wave 4 and Windows Phone 7 will join XBox and Windows 7 to create this end to end experience. Should be interesting to see...

Bloomberg: Palm is up for sale -- Engadget
via engadget.com Okay a couple of things about this: 1. Palm may not be actively for sale but with the position they are in they are probably getting offers or if not then the board and management have a fiduciary duty to explore this and see if there is a buyer who is willing to pay enough. 2. HTC’s interest in Palm could be strictly in relation to Palm’s patent portfolio. Said...

The iPad: Initial impressions - The New Fish-Sheep
The iPad: Initial impressions by David on Apr.10, 2010, under Tech I got a chance to spend a few hours with an iPad yesterday. A friend of mine got one at launch, and was kind enough to let me play with it for a while (thanks, Dave!). The test drive was fun, but it was also illuminating to talk to somebody who’d actually been living with one. So, here’s my initial impressions, in no...

What I want in a tablet
With all the tablet news and happenings going on in the last couple of months I have been thinking about what it is that I want from and in a tablet. There are a couple of categories of concerns. One, the physicality of the device and two, the usage of it. Answering what I think those two categories should resolve to will drive what the tablet I want is like. The tablet should be neither too big...

Freescsale, supplier of the chip that powers the Kindle as well as about 70% of the ebook market, has just developed a 7-inch tablet reference design that will basically be the genesis of many tablets starting 2010. And it’s $199. Now, to be fair, those two figures are a bit preliminary. The $199 figure is the one quoted by Freescale, not the final price that...
